“The most dangerous risk of all – the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.” – Randy Komisar

My name is Alyssa. I am a 29 year old, born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

I took my first ‘solo’ trip in 2011 to Europe through an organized travel company with a group of 45 other college students from all over the United States looking to spend New Years Eve in another country. At the time, I was eight months from graduating and I thought this would be my only chance to run away since I was about to enter the ‘real world’ and vacations over two weeks aren’t exactly welcomed in the US. This was the trip that gave me a case of wanderlust that refuses to leave, and I hope it never does.

After five years a working as a nurse, I decided there was more to life than working to pay bills.  So I  saved up enough money to leave my job and purchased a one way ticket to Thailand which led to me traveling around Asia and living in Northern India for nearly three years!

Now I am back in the United States with my Indian dog, Lucy. Working as a nurse as well as growing my jewelry business, Namastone Designs. Soon I will be checking off country number fourteen when I take a three week trip to Peru this winter!

Looking forward to many more adventures!

Much love Xx,

Alyssa
